About Us

Welcome to the Bishop Birch Community Centre.

Opened in 1996 to serve the Bishop Birch Place community and surrounding areas as a venue where activities, such as educational training courses, older adult education, youth sports activities and general hobbyists clubs, could take place.

Bishop Birch community centre was officially opened on the 27th of April 1996 by the President of Ireland, President Mary Robinson.

Our centre has a wide range of facilities and equipment to entertain and support members of the community or for those who would like to use the centre for their commercial, educational or organisational needs.

Bishop Birch community centre can cater for groups/clubs looking for a place to set up and share their activities with the people in Kilkenny. Our centre may also be available for special occasions such as children's birthday parties, communions and other family events.

Our centre has been used for sporting events, such as soccer, as it has its own green area with a football pitch located next to it as well as currently being used for local community events and meetings.

Educational training companies have used the computer facilities to train people in IT related skills such as the European Computer Driving licence (ECDL).
